Bright Cowboys

Cowboys in Vegas

42x56 oil on canvas. I did this for my niece from a photo she took during national Rodeo. Framed with a rope added to the frame.

Copper and Silver

30x40 Oil on Canvas

Hammering

Another of the set.

Putting Birdhouse on the Post

another illustration for the book.

Listening

Another watercolor for the birdhouse book.

At the Workbench

This watercolor is one of several illustrations done for a book written by Judy Combs about a boy and a birdhouse. I will post a few of them. I was happy with the way they turned out. An 8 year old posed for the pics, and he was a great model. The book should come out before the end of the year, it's being published in California.

Sunroom Window

I did this painting looking out my sunroom window toward the East. 30x40 Oil on canvas. I really enjoyed painting all the stuff on the bookshelf, and extending the view through a window for depth. Surrounding our yard on two sides are walls of corn one summer, beans the next, a fencerow in the distance. When there are two stories going on at once in a piece, it brings another level of interest for me as a painter.

Girl with Bunny

This young girl was carrying the bunny at our county fair, a hot summer bright dappled day, I took her photo and put her in a painting, 30x40 oil. She turned out to look a lot like one of my nieces.

Antique Mall

This is a painting I did of two of my sisters when we were visiting an antique mall in St Louis, and of course having a great time. 30x40 oil on canvas.

Dogs

These are four small doggie portraits for a commission. I can't believe it's been two weeks since I posted a painting. It's been very busy, with school conferences, and helping paint scenery for the community play. I really need advice on taking photos, my pics never are squared up even though they look that way on the camera screen. I must have something set incorrectly. Plus I took these indoors without natural light, so that affects them.
